Hilary Duff has been a red-carpet star since the ripe old age of 13, when she first won America's heart on the classic Disney show Lizzie McGuire. Since then she's released five albums, written three books, and never stopped appearing in movies and TV shows. Her latest project is Younger, a TV Land comedy about young (or in one case, young-ish) women trying to succeed in the world of NYC publishing while juggling men, friends, and a decent amount of alcohol. (The show returns for its second season on January 13.) Here, Hilary walks Cosmopolitan.com through 11 of her most memorable looks from the past 15 years.

This was clearly during Lizzie McGuire, because I have a hair accessory, which was my staple that turned into her staple. I definitely did not have a stylist. I'm pretty sure that's a pashmina thrown around my shoulders. I thought it was pretty cool that I had a Tiffany necklace and a little Louis Vuitton pochette.

This one I actually loved. It was a Stella McCartney dress, and my parents had just gotten me that Loree Rodkin evil eye necklace. I think that was the first time I wore Stella McCartney. I liked this dress; I still like it.

3. 2005, with Haylie Duff and Ryan Gosling
I was probably pretty excited to meet Ryan Gosling. Doesn't everyone still have a crush on him? It's lasted for a long time. My sister and I have some pretty Southern hair going on here, that's one thing I will say.

4. 2004, with Chad Michael Murray
I definitely had a crush on him. We had a few kissing scenes in the movie and I remember feeling pretty nervous about that, but then we became friends and I wasn't so nervous anymore. I remember loving wearing a t-shirt to the premiere. I [had started] working with a stylist at this point, and they were like, "Let's just throw a t-shirt on with it." And I was like, "Yeah, let's do that!" It was like a mind-blow moment.

5. 2002, with Haylie Duff
Oh my god, this was crazy. This is so embarrassing. Whenever I say I missed out on high school, everyone loves to tell me, "You missed out on all the embarrassing things that happen." And I'm like, "Mine's documented for everyone to see," and that is the time where I wore a jewelled kimono with cut-out-hole sparkle platform shoes and about six chopsticks in my hair, and I thought it was the shit.
P.S.—check out my sister's tummy. I would kill for these abs right now. We shared clothes all the time. That would be like the only thing that we would fight about.

I can't tell if the kimono or this one is worse. This is so sad. But by the way, at the time, I'm pretty sure it was cool. This is a Juicy Couture. Hello! This one was not velour. This one was after they did the velour, they came out with just a cotton jersey.
By the way, who decided to put the tank top underneath? Who decided that the multiple gold chains around my neck was acceptable with like the casual beach dress and the rainbow-colored—I'm pretty sure those were Giuseppe Zanotti—shoes. This is so bad. It hurts my feelings, actually.

This is cute. This was awesome. I was dating Joel Madden from Good Charlotte here, and I think this was the first time we went out in public together and presented an award onstage at the VMAs. We got to introduce the Killers, who I was obsessed with at the time. So this was a good one, minus gold shoes. Sometimes it's okay to mix metals; here I don't think it's okay. The more I look at it, the beads dangling off the bottom are a lot, too.

This is horrific. It's just bad all over—the black stripes in the hair. The skirt's not so bad. I was just on a dressy skirt mixed with a t-shirt kick. I'm, like, 14 here. Saucy shoes for a 14-year-old. I can't believe my mother let me leave the house!

9. 2003, with Serena Williams
I have no recollection of this. I was just a glitzy, glamour type of gal! I just liked sequins and sparkles. I'm not so much into sequins and sparkles now, so I've come a long way.
I run into Serena all the time and she's one of the nicest people ever. To be honest, I don't really remember this event, but I've met her so many times that she's always a nice person to bump into.

This is okay now; it's just dated. I think this was Dolce & Gabbana or something. I liked it. This was like my little rocker phase, so it's a little goth-y, girly situation. Again with the accessories! I really liked to hit those accessories hard.

I wonder if this is when my scarf obsession started, because I still have a scarf obsession and this is a pretty bold scarf. My hair and my makeup really hurt my feelings here. It's very heavy-handed. I definitely did not have a makeup artist, and I thought I could really nail down a smoky eye. I couldn't.
