Kristen Stewart's outfit at Chanel show

Kristen Stewart has just proven what we already know to be true: you don’t have to wear a fancy frock to a fancy event. Because when it comes to standing out in a crowd full of fashion-fanatics you really can never go wrong with some good old fancy pants.

The usually-shy actress showed up to the Chanel Metiers d'Art Fashion Show wearing an ensemble that oozed confidence (and probs proved that her friendship with Karl Lagerfeld is well and truly paying off).

On top she brought all of the sparkle to the party in a silver bolero-style top complete with big black bows. She made it even sexier by opting to wear nothing but her bare skin underneath, leaving just enough to the imagination.

On the bottom she worked a pair of high waisted, wide-legged leather pants, which balanced out the femininity of the top, making the whole look a perfect mix of girly-rocker-edginess.

She completed the whole look with a single chain necklace with padlock pendant, a smokey eye and a long slick back, dead-straight pony tail, thanks to some amazing extensions.

Unfortunately for us, all of K-Stew’s clothes are made by Chanel, which means they are well out of our price range. But this would be an easy look to recreate with a pair of black wide leg pants and a silver knitted crop top. Did someone say “perfect party season outfit”?
