Updated: Here's the REAL story behind Kylie Jenner and that blogger twinning at Coachella

Apparently, it's not all as it seemed.

Update 22.04.16

Last weekend at Coachella, fans accused Kylie Jenner of copying blogger and designer Brit Day's bold festival look. The two both wore the same Discount Universe bikini, and similar colorful hair. Brit posted a side-by-side pic to her Instagram, joking that Kylie copied her look.

It did seem like she was teasing, and that she wasn't really serious. Still, fans jumped on her, saying that Brit probably got paid to wear it (popular bloggers do sometimes) and that Kylie would never copy her. ~Drama~! Refinery29 spoke to Discount Universe, the brand that makes made the bikini, to get to the bottom of what really happened. And it looks like it probably WAS just a coincidence! "We definitely did not send the blogger anything; she purchased the set," a spokesperson for the company told Refinery29. "Kylie chose the set out herself from our NYC showroom (when it was there pre-season, they hadn't gone into production), well before it was listed online — it's a total coincidence." Going one step further, the company posted an Instagram explaining what happened. And it makes one really important point: "Both of them looked F* GREAT! Let's stand by eachother... no more shaming <3" HEY GUYS!! Just to clear some stuff up... Kylie was one of the first people to get a hold of this set, no ones copying anyone and both of them looked FUCKING GREAT! Let's stand by eachother... no more shaming ❤️ #girlpower #kyliejenner #discountuniverse 👯👯👯 A photo posted by DI$COUNT UNIVERSE (@discountuniverse) onApr 19, 2016 at 8:46pm PDT

Truth.

Original story:

Kylie Jenner definitely has a pretty distinct style and has always been the one sister to experiment with an ~edgier~ aesthetic. But eagle-eyed fans have started blasting the reality TV star for stealing her Coachella outfit inspo from a New Zealand Instagrammer who goes by the name of Brit Day. Two weeks ago, Brit Day posted a picture of herself wearing pastel pink braids and a sequinned eye-print bikini set by Aussie label, Discount Universe. Then, over the weekend, Kylie posted pictures and snaps of herself wearing pretty much the exact same thing, all the way down to the pastel double-braids.

While many fans are quick to jumper on the h8er train and get all up in arms about someone as famous as Kylie Jenner copying a look and taking credit for it, Brit Day seems to be taking it as a compliment.

She even posted a side-by-side of her and Kyles, hashtagging it #whoworeitbetter and #shesababe, proving that this chick has more than just an epic sense of style; she’s also a lover not a fighter.

Whilst the outfits are incredibly similar, any fashion-forward, festival goer knows that pastel hair, braids and Discount Universe go with music festivals like Kim goes with Kanye. It’s practically an unofficial uniform. So this really could just be a massive coincidence.

Also, we doubt that someone as famous as Kylie is following a small town Instagrammer from NZ with 8000 followers. She would barely have time to check her own sisters’ feeds what with all of that time she spends videoing herself mouthing the words to rnb songs on Snapchat… right?
