Say hello to the latest jeans trend: The Wedgie jeans

No, seriously.

Jean trend The Wedgie

There’s no arguing that Levi’s know the secret recipes to the best jean fits ever in the history of mankind. When you think of denim, you think of Levi’s. So when Levi’s tells us what’s trending or what cut we need to slide into next, we listen and we do.

So you can imagine our surprise when we found out that the latest cut advised by the denim gurus was in fact called the “The Wedgie.”

Now, for anyone who has ever experience epic wedgie domination by way of thick, skin-tight jeans, you will know the pain of not being able to get your hand far enough up there to pick that sucker out. And we all know the pain of trying the hands-free squirm to free things up without success. But don’t worry, Levi’s have promised they won’t feel like a wedgie and apparently you’ll be begging for this kind of butt-invasion.

“The Wedgie” is an updated version of the vintage-looking “mum jean”, with the high waist, the straight, cropped leg and the button fly.

"Just as the 501 CT was inspired by girls wearing the 501 a little bit slouchy, the Wedgie is inspired by girls [who] were downsizing a vintage 505 and wearing it very close and almost vacuum-packed to the rear-ends — hence the affectionate and cheeky name," Jonathan Cheung, senior vice president of Levi's Global Design, told Mashable. "What's great about the vintage 505 is this flatness at the front, that holds your tummy in, and they are a little tight around the back."

Even Kylie Jenner is jumping on the wedgie-wagon! She Instagrammed these pics of her in her own Levi's Wedgies and they got more than 1 million likes each. The reason the cut is so popular is because they lift your booty nice and high, as well as separate your cheeks just a little bit, giving you a super round, defined and flattering derriere.

The Wedgie jean retails for $139.95 and you can get your very own right here.
