Nicki Minaj Just Called Out A High Fashion Shoe Designer

If there is one thing you should know in this world, it is that you should not, cannot, under any circumstances, cross Nicki Minaj and expect to get away with it. Shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti is learning that the hard way.

On Friday, Nicki took to Twitter to say that Zanotti "seems to think it's ok to name his sneakers after me but his PR says they won't take our call." She followed up with a savage "LOL."

We know what that "LOL" means Nicki.

She explained that Zanotti himself told her he was making sneakers inspired by her and that she wore them on the cover of Cosmopolitan US. This was "years ago," Nicki notes, but still.

Now, Nicki has fronted Cosmo twice, once in 2011 and again in 2015. Both are great covers — shoutout to that "demand an orgasm every time" cover line in particular — however neither technically feature sneakers (because neither are full-length shots).

That doesn't mean Nicki wasn't wearing the shoes for her cover shoot though, and her tweets continue to make a great point:

Indeed, a quick Google search indicates there are quite a few shoes by the Italian designer that bear her first name.

And, so, this is where things get messy. Nicki claimed in her tweets that her people had recently tried to contact Zanotti — presumably to work on a "capsule collection" with him — and were rebuffed, rudely:

And what Nicki wants, Nicki gets: the hashtag was soon trending worldwide.

Soon, the shoes ~mysteriously~ disappeared from their site.

And, remember, Nicki isn't just doing this for herself, after all. She's standing up for women everywhere who don't get the credit or pay they deserve:

After all, she apparently doesn't even want the money for herself.

And if there's one other thing we know about Nicki, it's that she always gets what she wants.
