We all know we can't live forever, but we can have a damn good shot at living as long a life as possible, so we're happy to take all the advice we can get about how to make it happen.
Which is why we were delighted to hear Theresa Rowley from Michigan in the United States, who turned 104 on January 1 this year, explain how she's reached such a ripe old age. What we were even more excited about, however, was the fact that her secret to a long life is Diet Coke. Because we can definitely get on board with that as a regular habit.
Speaking to WZZM 13, Theresa explained how she's drunk at least one can of Diet Coke every day since the product was first launched in 1982, when she was 68.
"I drink it because I like it," she said, detailing how she picks up a new multipack of Diet Coke cans every time she goes shopping.

And while she can't know for certain whether it's the fizzy drink that's kept her live and kicking, she's got no other clue how she's made it this far.
"When I was 100, I thought I'd never be 104; I thought I'd pass away by that time but it just didn't happen," Theresa told WZZM 13. "Then I turn 101, and nothing happens. Here I am, 104, and still nothing happens."
Good old Diet Coke.
It's probably worth noting that although a regular Diet Coke habit seems to have worked for Theresa, it's not exactly packed with all things nutritious. Sure, it doesn't contain sugar, but the additives it uses instead have long been debated by health experts.
So yeah, crack open a can every now and then in your quest to live a long life, but it's probably sensible to follow the 'everything in moderation' rule if you want to be truly healthy.
