Modern Family actress, Sarah Hyland, just opened up about her experiences following a kidney transplant in the best way possible.

While celebrating the Fourth of July, Sarah spent her day lounging around the pool, taking smokin' bikini snaps aplenty. In taking her pool-side pics, she chose to draw attention to the scar she got following a kidney transplant procedure in 2012.

Just like Selena Gomez, the 27-year-old is in NO way afraid to show off her post-op scar. Posting a close-up of her mid-section, Sarah proudly flaunted her scar and shared the hashtag #scarsondisplay.

Sarah has always been open about her struggles with her health. Just last month, the actress was hospitalised for an undisclosed medical condition and was forced to stop work. As spotted by People, Sarah snapped herself from her hospital bed for National Selfie Day.

"Sometimes a selfie is more than just a good angle and feelin cute. This time for #nationalselfieday I've decided to share my truth. As painful as it is," said Sarah in one post. "So here is my face that was torn from work against my will. But I'm very grateful it was. Health should always come first."

She's also been open about her struggles with hair loss as a side effect of her post-surgery medication, reaching out to fans on Instagram for their best at-home remedies.

"Help, help, help. What hair-care products are out there for thinning hair? This 27-year-old would like to know," she said. "I know it seems like I don't, but I do. Some of my medications have been making my hair fall out."

Sarah became vocal about her Kidney condition back in May 2017, after clapping back at online bullies who criticised her seemingly rapid weight loss. "My circumstances have put me in a place where I'm not in control of what my body looks like. So I strive to be as healthy as possible, as everyone should," said the actress on Twitter.

The actress has been battling kidney dysplasia since birth, and we think she's handling her condition like a total champ.
