Anyone who grew up eating delicious, sickly-sweet cereal for breakfast knows the best part was when you had sweet, milky goodness to drink at the end.
This flavour was the inspiration for New York dessert heaven Momofuku Milk Bar’s Cereal Milk Soft Serve, which is basically that deliciousness in ice-cream-form.
Unfortunately, we can’t hop on a plane to New York every time we’re in the mood for this, so thankfully there will soon be a way to indulge in cereal milk-flavoured ice-cream whenever we want.
Ben & Jerry’s has created a ‘Cereal Splashback’ line, which is basically three flavours inspired by childhood favourite cereals.
There’s Fruit Loot, inspired by Fruit Loops.
And Cocoa Loco, inspired by Cocoa Puffs (their equivalent of Coco “just like a chocolate milkshake only crunchy” Pops).
Finally there’s Frozen Flakes, which is based on the cereal Frosted Flakes (or Frosties, as we know them).
Ben & Jerry’s in the U.S. rolled out the flavours to coincide with their National Cereal Day earlier this year. And we have received word that Cocoa Loco and Frozen Flakes are now available in Australia and New Zealand!
Happy ice-cream eating!
