Grab your Gucci loafers, Burberry plaid headbands, and elbow-length debutant ball gloves, people — a Gossip Girl comeback might be on the cards.
Following the news that HBO now has the rights to the Gossip Girl-inspired series Prep, a literary adaptation about a Midwestern girl coming of age and navigating life at a New England boarding school, Blake Lively has just divulged some key information about a possible GG revival.
When asked in interview with Variety about a reboot, the mother of two — who is best known for playing Serena van der Woodsen — said: "I don't know. Why not? It sort of all depends. Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it's hard work and I've got my babies, and I don't want to be away from them that much. But I've just learned in life you never say never."
The star, who recently revealed she's working with non-profit organisation Child Rescue Coalition to raise awareness for their fight against child pornography, also revealed the show was originally set in Toronto, not New York City.
"Josh [Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage] refused to do the show in Toronto. They said, 'No, New York City is the star of the show.' And so they fought for it to be made in New York. If we would have been in Toronto, I don't know if we would have made it past our first episode," she admitted.
"We were always in the coolest new spots. It was almost like a city guide as well as a fun show to watch."
Er, yeah, Blake, that's why everyone needs a comeback.
