Although his sexual orientation was never revealed in the Harry Potter books or films, author J.K. Rowling revealed in 2007 that Dumbledore is gay.

Speaking about the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them films, a five-part Harry Potter prequel this week, Rowling indicated that Dumbledore’s sexuality will be acknowledged and even form part of the plot in the series.

"Well, I’m very comfortable with the question,” Rowling said, according to Variety. “I would like to say because this is obviously a five-part story, there’s lots to unpack in that relationship.”

“You will see Dumbledore as a younger man and quite a troubled man,” Rowling added. “We’ll see him at that formative period of his life. As far as his sexuality is concerned, watch this space.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is out November 18, and honestly, it can’t come soon enough.
