There was a proposal at the 2018 Emmys and holy sh*t we're crying

There are cool proposal stories — flash mobs, skywriting etc — and then there are COOL proposal stories. Proposing to your GF in front of a crowd of Hollywood heavyweights while accepting your Emmy Award definitely qualifies as the latter.

That's exactly what director Glenn Weiss did when he won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for Variety Special and good lord it was a tearjerker.

During his acceptance speech, Glenn told the audience the award was bittersweet because he'd recently lost his mother, before turning his attention to his girlfriend Jan, who was sitting in the crowd.

"Mom always believed in finding the sunshine in things and she adored my girlfriend Jan. Jan, you are the sunshine in my life. And mom was right, don't ever let go of your sunshine," Glenn said. "You wonder why I don't like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife," he said. And the whole room lost it. Watch the hectic/emotional/adorable moment below:

Jen was pulled up on stage to receive Glenn's late mother's ring while an auditorium full of very famous people applauded.

"Jan, I want to put this ring that my mom wore on your finger in front of all these people and in front of my mom and your parents watching from above. Will you marry me?" Glenn asked.

Jen's reaction was the only appropriate reaction for being proposed to while at the 2018 Emmys: a big 'YES' and a whole lotta this face:

But perhaps even better than Jen's reaction was the reaction of all the famous people in the rooom who LEGITIMATELY LOST THEIR SHIT.

Please view all the people losing their minds...

It's rare that Hollywood is this pure. Lap it up.
