First Instagram, now Facebook is turning into Snapchat

Well this is awkward.

After Instagram introduced their new ‘Stories’ feature last week, now Facebook have also decided to ‘draw some inspo’ from app-rival Snapchat.

Rather than moving Snapchat’s Instagram’s ‘Stories’ feature across onto Facebook’s Newsfeed, Zuckerberg and his crew have started adding a range of filters, in the forms of frames and masks, to amp up your pic and vid game. Just like Snapchat.

The addition is part of Facebook’s new ‘video first’ philosophy, which puts the camera at the front and centre of its app, Facebook’s product manager Sachin Monga told USA Today.

"We are going to learn. That's our main objective," said Facebook product manager Sachin Monga. "We're really excited to see what people think."

While the new filter feature is currently being tested in Brazil and Canada, if successful, they will gradually roll it out to all 1.7 billion users.

Um, great minds think alike?
