Fifty Shades of Grey wins plenty of Razzies

The film got spanked #sorrynotsorry

Forget the Oscars, it was all about the worsts of last year at the Razzie Awards– and there was one big winner (well, loser)… drum roll please… Fifty Shades of Grey. Sorry Christian Grey, but we saw this one cuming coming.

Despite raking in more than $338.4 million from global box offices, no amount of cheese-grater ab-flashing, seductive stares or steamy sex scenes could save the erotic novel-turned-film from winning Razzies for worst screenplay, worst actor for Jamie Dornan, worst actress for Dakota Johnson, worst onscreen couple for both performers and a tie for worst picture of 2015 with (not so) Fantastic Four.

While Eddie Redmayne is up for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Oscars for his portrayal of transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl, he won a Razzie for his performance in sci-fi space opera Jupiter Ascending. Turns out no amount of acting credits can save you from cringe-worthy scripting…

Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco won the worst supporting actress award for The Wedding Ringer and all-time Razzie champ Sylvester Stallone was honoured with the Redeemer Award for Creed.

In the words of Rocky: “Life’s not about how hard of a hit you can give…it’s about how many you can take, and still keep moving forward."
