With house prices higher than ever we’ve pretty much accepted the fact we won’t own a house before 85. According to Domain the average Melbourne digs costs nearly $800,000, while the standard Sydney home is even exxier at over $1 million. Yikes!

And now the Gilmore Girls reboot is almost here (14 days to be exact), the peeps are Trulia have gone worked out just how much it would cost to own a GG houses IRL. And it confirms what we’ve always known – life in Stars Hollow really is that much better.

If you wanted to nab yourself Lorelai and Rory’s 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom abode it would cost you a fraction of the Aussie price, coming in at almost $600,000. Still not cheap, but actually not impossible to buy, right?

As for Sookie and Jackson’s 3 bed, 2 bath ~mansion~? Well, it’s not so good, costing over $900,000.

Now Luke and Lane Kim’s cribs look a little closer to our price bracket, estimated at around $225,000 and $215, 000 respectively.

If you need us we'll be sipping on a cup of coffee at Luke's Diner (AKA Gloria Jeans) in denial, pretending we're living that Stars Hollow life.
