With 11 weeks to go until Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life airs on Netflix (but who’s counting?), we’ve just been gifted with new pics of Star Hollow – oh, and just the first page of the script for the first episode. Chill? Nope, we’ve got absolutely zero.
The images published by Entertainment Weekly show Rory and Lorelai having a cuppa joe in Luke’s Diner (because some things never change) and then Rory and Lorelai with Emily at a cemetery, most likely mourning the loss of Richard (the actor who played him, Edward Hermann, passed away in 2014).
As if that’s not already enough to maybe make you wee your pants a little with excitement (no, that just us?) then Entertainment Weekly has also published the first page of the script for the first episode, and it’s literally laugh-out-loud hilarious.
It sets the scene with Lorelai sitting on the steps of the Stars Hollow gazebo with a “giant” cup of coffee in each hand when Rory appears, apparently fresh off a flight.
No really, she looks fresh, and Lorelai can’t stop going on about how good she looks despite the fact she’s just stepped off “a glorified tin can … surrounded by people with consumption and diphtheria, scabies, hummus dips, rabid dogs and drugged up children attacking your seat and stealing your change.”
Oh yeah, Lorelai’s still got it! She goes on to quip that Rory’s been “Goop’d”.
“You do yoga in the aisles wearing cashmere sweatpants while your comfort dog watches Zoolander on his watch”.
We can already tell, there are so many LOLs to come. #11weekstogo
