This immersive Quidditch World Cup event is any Harry Potter fan's dream

Although the opportunity to attend Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry hasn't been forthcoming, last night saw an immersive event recreate the Quidditch World Cup, and it looks like any Harry Potter fan's dream.

To mark the launch of Quidditch Through the Ages, a new digital audiobook by JK Rowling, narrated by Andrew Lincoln, guests were treated to a 360-degree sound experience soundscape, which made them feel like they were at the centre of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup Final.

There was match commentary from the Daily Prophet's Quidditch correspondent, Ginny Potter (narrated by Imogen Church), and Rita Skeeter (narrated by Annette Badland), as well as the sounds of whizzing Snitches, whooshing Quaffles and the buzz of racing brooms darted from all four corners of the room.

Sounds pretty special, right? Literally like being immersed in a real Quidditch match. Now where exactly did we leave our Nimbus 2000?

According to Pottermore, Quidditch Through The Ages contains everything anyone would ever need to know about the history, the rules – and the breaking of the rules – of the noble sport of Quidditch.

Audible say it's [acked with fascinating facts and is a must-have sporting bible for all Harry Potter fans and Quidditch lovers, whether the weekend amateur or the seasoned Chudley Cannons season-ticket holder.
