Lucy Hale has landed the lead role in a new TV show

PLL fans get excited, 'cos we have some totally ~fresh~ new info on Lucy Hale's brand new show!

Back in Jan we gave you the deets on her new series Life Sentence (check it out below ICYMI), but now we've learned that the pilot for the series, in which the 27-year-old stars alongside Elliott Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair, Brooke Lyons, and Carlos PenaVega, has been ~officially~ picked up by CW!

Posting the fab news to her 'gram, she said,

"The face you make when your new pilot gets picked up 🙏🏼 THANK YOU @thecw - @doozerproductions and to all involved. You have made Lucy a happy gal !!!"

At least this gives us something to look forward to after PLL ends in June (sob).

Aria Montgomery may be leaving our screens forever, but Lucy Hale is here to stay!

The 27-year-old actress has landed the lead role in the upcoming CW dramedy show called Life Sentence.

The highly anticipated new series will tell the story of “a young woman who thought she had terminal cancer and decided to live it up as if she only had a short period of time left before she perished… then she learns she isn’t actually sick at all — and now has to live with all the choices she made during a spree when she was ‘living like she was dying.’”

Ooooh, sounds exciting!

Hale will switch networks from PLL’s Freeform to The CW, who you’ll recognise from creating epic shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural, Jane The Virgin and The Vampire Diaries, to name a few.

Therefore, we have HIGH hopes for this new series!

Lucy took to Twitter to share her exciting new venture, writing: ”Beyond thankful for new ventures and opportunities!!”

The excited actress also spread the word via a post on Insta, writing: ”New chapters and adventures. Extremely grateful ❤ #lifesentence”.

The final season of Pretty Little Liars airs this April and while we’re still reeling from the fact that the mystery-drama is coming to an end, we are beyond excited for Lucy’s next big hit!
