Well this week just keeps getting better. After hearing that Sex and the City might be returning to our televisions it seems one of our other EPIC obsessions, Twilight, could also be making a comeback.
That’s right, montages of pasty vamps, ripped wolf men and lingering, pained gazes could be back in your life again.
Rumours of a re-vamp (see what we did there?) have been prompted by none other than Patrick Wachsberger, the co-chairman of Lionsgate and former head of Summit - the production companies behind the Twilight-franchise.
According to Wachsberger, although all Stephanie Meyer’s books have already been turned into movies, there might be more to come from Forks, Washington.
"It's a possibility," Wachsberger tells Screen Daily, "Not a certainty but it's a possibility.”
TBH us Twi-hards will take what we can get, at least it’s not a flat-out ‘hell no’.
So what are they waiting for, you ask?
“It's about Stephanie,” Wachsberger explains. “If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we're here for her." FYI – so are we, Steph.
The same company went on to producer Meyer's (not so successful sequel), The Host and the more famous series Divergent, however, neither are a patch on Twilight. "Twilight was a game changer for everyone involved," Wachsberger admits, meaning there's probs still a shittonne of money to be made and we're totally ready to spend it.
While we're not 100% sure K-Stew and R-Patz would be on board with a sequel, a lot of unpredicted things have happened lately so practically anything's possible.
