We're around two years out from the release of the live-action version of Mulan, but we maaaybbeee have just gotten an idea who will play our favourite arse-kicking (sorta) Princess.
Joining the likes of Emma Watson as Belle and Lily James as Cinderella, Mulan might be played by 22-year-old Aussie babe Natasha Liu Bordizzo, reports China Film Insider. Natasha, who is a black belt in taekwondo and is trained in kempo karate (damn, girl), recently played a warrior in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.
According to ~sources~, Disney has chosen Natasha to play Mulan in the 2018 film but are keeping things hush hush (they even went on an official fan board and said they're still looking, but they did the same with Moana, so w/e).
Some critics have spoken out against Natasha, saying that, as the Sydney-born QT is half-Chinese and half-Italian, she wouldn't be the correct choice. Disney has promised that the actress chosen will be of Chinese heritage (not just of general 'Asian heritage'), but didn't specify if she would be full or half like Natasha.
Either way, we think she's a pretty good fit.
