Netflix’s ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ reboot gets a release date

It’s witching season

By Joshua Joynes

Not since Netflix bestowed us with the glorious guilty pleasure of Riverdale have we been so excited for an Archie Comics re-adaptation. Don't get us wrong, Melissa Joan Hart's Sabrina the Teenage Witch has left a Tamagotchi-sized hole in our grungy '90s hearts forever, but there's a new Sabrina in town, and she's chilling.

Netflix have confirmed that their darker retelling of Sabrina, aptly named 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' will premiere on October 26 – the weekend before Halloween. It's time to dust off your broomsticks and crack out the Ouija board because we're all headed back to Salem. The series is set to be more accurately based on the Archie Horror comic books, focusing on Sabrina as she navigates through a whole stack of baddies, the occult and, of course, witchcraft.

So who's haunting your screen this time round? Check out who has been cast as your new faves...

Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka)

Formerly played by '90s icon Melissa Joan Hart, you likely know Shipka from Mad Men or AHS's Feud: Betty & Joan.

Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch)

Filling Nate Richert's teen-heartthrob shoes is Ross Lynch, who you'll likely remember from his stint on Disney's Austin & Ally.

Aunt Zelda (Miranda Otto)

If you've had a 24-year obsession with Sabrina: Down Under (an early 00s spin off film that see's Sabrina visit Oz only to fall in love with a merman #standard ), you'll be thrilled to hear the show is getting an Aussie injection in the former of Miranda Otto, who will play Aunt Zelda

Aunt Hilda (Lucy Davis)

You'll know Lucy from BBC's The Office, or as Etta Candy from Wonder Woman. Either way, you know she's incred.
