Meet the cast of 'Sierra Burgess Is a Loser', Netflix's new teen movie

Including your fave Shannon Purser and dreamboat Noah Centineo.

By Joshua Joynes

Netflix is gearing up to release it's hotly-anticipated new original film Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, and if the trailer is anything to go by, we're ready to laugh and cry all at the same time. The film is a modern retelling of the 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac which sees the self-titled protagonist too reoccupied with his physical appearance to confess his love for his beloved Roxane.

Fast forward all the way to 2018 where old mate Cyrano gets the Netflix treatment to become Sierra Burgess, a high-school student who of course becomes embroiled in a case of mistaken identity resulting in an unexpected romance with the cutest guy in school. In order to win him over, she must rely on the support of the most popular girl in school. Basically it's the teen movie our '90s-starved hearts never knew we needed.

Meet the cast of 'Sierra Burgess Is a Loser':

Shannon Purser as Sierra Burgess

Shannon Purser needs no introduction, in fact she's a certified Netflix alum. You fell in love with her as Barbara "Barb" Holland on Stranger Things and then had your heart ripped into shreds when she was killed off (sorry 'bout it) , she then became the ballsy Ethel Muggs on Riverdale where she took on Veronica Lodge in the student president election, and now at last she's starring as the lovable lead Sierra Burgess, whose cat-fishing skills are about to land her a dream man.

Watch Shannon Purser have her Stranger Things knowledge put to the test:

Noah Centineo as Jamey

Most known for his role in the television series The Fosters, and Netflix film To All the Boys I've Loved Before where he played Lara Covey's love interest Peter Kavinsky, Noah is definitely on our babe town radar. This time he is gracing our screens as Jamey, the high-school dreamboat who Sierra is madly in love with.

Watch Noah Centineo get real about dating fans:

Kristine Froseth as Veronica

Growing up between Norway and New Jersey, Kristine is a 20-year-old model turned actress whose breakout role saw her portray Eli in a TV adaption of the cult-classic horror film Let The Right One In. Using her model-good looks Kristine stars as Veronica, the most popular girl in high-school, who teams up with Sierra in a plot to win over their crushes.

RJ Cyler as Dan

RJ Cyler is one to keep your eyes on. Before landing his first ever film role he was homeless, so he definitely knows a thing or two about ambition. RJ plays Sierra's lovable best friend Dan, who is definitely the moral high ground of the film, questioning Sierra's 'cat-fishing' tactics. You might recognise RJ from the 2015 comedy Me and Earl and the Dying Girl or from the 2017 Power Rangers film.

Will Peltz as Spence

If you haven't already, do yourself a favour and follow Will on Insta. Besides being a full time babe and working model, Will has starred in a few flicks in his time including Men, Women & Children and 2015's creepy horror-flick Unfriended.
