17 times Snap Maps ruined relationships

Goodbye to lying about being busy so you can stay in bed.

Snap Map is ruining relationships

A week ago, Snapchat introduced Snap Map, a new feature that lets you see where all your friends are. (More on that here).

Naturally, it raised a few concerns:

Here are all the different ways Snap Map can potentially make everyone have a collective Mean Girls hallway freakout:

1. When you now know about a certain party.

2. And see who you thought were your-ride-and-die buds hanging out without you.

3. So obvi you're now a full-blown Snapchat sleuth.

4. Because you now have access to the scandalous lives of the Snapchat elite.

5. It's the one part of Harry Potter you wish weren't real.

6. Except, you know, far more awkward.

7. Showing up too early is somehow even more agonising now.

8. And LDRs feel even more dramatic.

9. But then again, if bae were here, things might get weeeeeird.

10. And basically the worst for fuckboys everywhere.

11. But also the worst if you're really, truly just friends.

12. Even mums will betray you!

13. But nothing is as bad as everyone now knowing the truth about you.

14. You actually have to mean "omw" when you say it. :(

15. Or just keep up with your own little white lies to get out of doing stuff.

16. You can't even lie about being busy!

17. But you do want to know if your friends actually are.

But for real, if you actually hate this, you can put yourself on ghost mode like this:

  1. Access the Snap Map feature by going into camera mode on the app and pinching your fingers as if you're zooming out on a photo.
  2. When you get to the Settings section, enable Ghost Mode, or simply choose which people you're OK with seeing your location.
