VERY smart.

Friends fake proposal for free dessert

If there’s one thing we know to be true in this world, it’s that free food is better than food you have to pay for.

OK, depends on the food tbh. But if you were eating out at a fancy restaurant, and knew there was a chance you could get a little extra dessert by doing something like, say, faking an engagement, you’d do it, right?

Well, these two best friends did it first, shared the result on Twitter, and now the internet is calling them geniuses.

Texas teenager Cati Domitrovich, 19, and her best friend, Alex Nagle, 17, decided to treat themselves to a nice dinner on Saturday night after a shit week.

When it came to dessert time, instead of just picking something off the menu and paying for it – because who does that, seriously – they decided to see what they could get for free by STAGING A FAKE PROPOSAL.

Cati told BuzzFeed, “We just had to act like a couple the entire time.” When Cati went to the bathroom, Alex told someone from the restaurant’s staff that he was planning to propose, and even got the employee to capture every important moment on camera.

As for the dessert? From the looks of it they got a mousse brownie-looking thing, a fondant, and a crème brûlée.

And so was the reaction; Cati said, “Everyone believed us and everyone clapped.”

So are we. Free dessert FTW.
