Tinder have launched a petition to campaign for an interracial couple emoji

‘Cause we want to see an interracial couple emoji, dammit!

If Tinder were a person, we'd give him (or her) a big high ten this week. Why? Well, for two reasons: the first being the transgender-inclusive update they announced on Friday. (High five!) And on top of that, Tinder recently launched their official campaign for an interracial couple emoji. (Another high five!)

As Tinder points out, emojis for people of many races and emojis for same-sex couples came into effect in 2015. However, there is still no emoji to represent interracial couples.

That's a bit of an oversight, no?

The majority of Tinder users (74%) also said they'd been on a date with someone of a different race. So Tinder think it's high time there was an emoji to represent that — and we agree! On February 27, Tinder launched a petition for an interracial couple emoji, and at the time of writing it has already clocked up a staggering 24,000 signatures.
