Meghan Markle's dad has changed his mind and wants to walk her down the aisle now

The news comes after Thomas Markle reportedly suffered a heart attack.

Following Kensington Palace's statement earlier this week that hinted Meghan Markle's father mightn't be walking her down the aisle when she marries Prince Harry on Saturday, reports have surfaced that Thomas Markle has changed his mind.

After a suspected heart attack last week, TMZ says they have spoken with Mr Markle from his hospital bed and say he's going to try and be there for his daughter. Despite doctor's warnings that the incident caused "[serious damage]" to his heart, Mr Markle told the gossip site he "[hates] the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle."

As per TMZ:

It's been reported that the 73-year-old initially dropped out of attending the wedding because details of his paparazzi shoot came to light and he didn't want to attend the event and risk embarrassing Meghan and Harry on their big day.

Apparently, the secret photo shoot was not supposed to be a salacious pay day for Mr Markle but rather boost his image because he'd only been snapped in unflattering ways prior to that. The Daily Mail also reports that Meghan's estranged half-sister, Samantha took the blame for the faux pap pics.

"The bad press over my father doing staged photos is my fault," Samantha Markle reportedly tweeted from a protected account, according to screenshots that were published by the Daily Mail. "The media was unfairly making him look bad so I suggested he do positive photos for his benefit and the benefit of the royal family."

Samantha also recently went on UK TV to talk about her father's health. There she was also grilled by host Piers Morgan about her less than complimentary (nasty AF?!) comments about her sister in the lead up to the wedding.

TMZ asked Thomas about reports that the Queen is "very angry" about the pap deal and, while he called the move "stupid" he didn't think Her Majesty would care at all.

"I don't think the queen is thinking about what I'm doing," he said.

May 19 is the date Meg and Haz are due to say 'I do' and, if this is anything to go by, the drama will likely continue right up until the 11th hour.
