If you see this hook in a public bathroom, run and call authorities

Introducing the secret spy camera you need to watch out for.

public bathroom

This is beyond creepy.

Advances in technology has made life more convenient, but unfortunately, it also has led to stealth new ways of engaging in creepy behaviour.

In an alarming new trend, peeping Toms have reportedly been spying on women in change rooms, bathrooms and hotels using a secret camera disguised as a hook.

The cameras are sold cheaply online as home-protection devices, but some people are using them for more sinister purposes.

The creepy contraption, which appears similar to a commonplace clothing hook, can be distinguished by its three tiny dots at the top, which are actually cameras.

Even more horrifying is the ease of which perves using these cameras to obtain images without your consent.

“Nowadays, with the advances in technology, all you need to do is insert a MicroSD card,” private investigator Carrie Kerskie told NBC.

“The battery life for these coat hooks, I looked it up, is two hours. Then, you just take it out, pop it in the computer, and you have all your images.”

Well, that’s disturbing information…

The devices can easily be purchased online and there have been cases in the US where police have found these cameras in public bathrooms, prompting them to warn the public.

So, be vigilant. If you see dodgy hooks while in a public space, it’s time to bail out of there and report it.
