When it comes to bedroom antics, we're often told that the more sex, the better.
Science has proven that sex counts as a workout, is great for your self-esteem, is a huge mood-booster and a fab way to ~bond~ with your partner.
But scientifically, how much sex should we actually be having a week?
According to a study published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, couples shouldn't have unrealistically high expectations.
The study analysed data from over 25,000 people for over 23 years. Although researchers noticed patterns between sex and happiness levels, they discovered that just having sex once a week gave their subjects all the ~benefits~.
"Once a week is maybe a more realistic goal to set than thinking you have to have sex every day, and that feels overwhelming, and you avoid it," Study leader Amy Muise told CNN.
"I do think couples can end up feeling pressure to try to engage in sex as frequently as possible," she added, before noting that couples having heaps of sex shoud defs not "cut down."
In other words, y'all can have however much sex you want, whenever you damn feel like it.
