People of the internet, meet Caspar Jopling.

There must be something hella romantic in the water celebs are sipping on right now, because we are reporting on yet another whirlwind engagement from tinsel town.

UK singer Ellie Goulding may be best known for her powerful pipes, but old mate Ellie has quite the number of A-List exes—including Skrillex, Jeremy Irvine, Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan (as well as a rumoured fling with Prince Harry). While none of those relationships worked out, it seems that Ellie is now ready to settle down after accepting the proposal of her short-term boyfriend, Caspar Jopling.

The couple actually got together around 18 months ago — which is a fairly lengthy amount of time when compared to the likes of Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, who both got engaged after just over a month of dating. However, in the big scheme of things, it's still a pretty rapid progression from first date to popping the question.

But we have to say, they are pretty damn cute together!

The couple chose to announce the news in perhaps the most traditional way possible — by publishing an alert in the newspaper. Their announcement in The Times read as follows: "The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands."

However, to keep things firmly in the 21st century, Caspar then followed up with an adorable Instagram post of his new fiancée flashing her engagement ring. He poured his heart out in the caption to, saying:

"I get to spend the rest of my life with this truly extraordinary and beautiful, beautiful person. No one has ever made me feel more full of life, knowledge, happiness, or love. Hope, passion, confidence, and more love. There is no one I have ever been more complete with and there is no one I will ever feel more complete with. I look forward to a lifetime of exploring the world together, crying with laughter at stupid jokes, chatting into the early hours of the morning about art, music, the world, and the future. I love you Elena. And thank you to all of you that have sent such loving messages today."

Honestly, the 'I love you Elena' bit made us instantly cry.

Ellie Goulding is yet to post anything on her Instagram, but we'll let you know if a mushy statement is shared there whenever it may happen!

In the meantime, we should probably get to know this new dude of hers. Caspar Jopling is a rower who went to Eton college (a very prestigious British boarding school which was attended by the likes of Prince William, Prince Harry and Tom Hiddleston). He then studied History of Art and Architecture at Havard University — so basically this confirms that he is one smart cookie.

He now spends his days working as an art dealer for Sotheby's in New York City, where he lives in a cooler-than-cool Soho apartment with Ellie.

After a little bit of digging around online, we've discovered that beyond his Princey classmates, Caspar has some oddly close connections to the royal family.

The Honorable Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire (AKA Caspar's dad) is the son of the famous politician Michael Jopling, and his brother is the ultra famous art dealer Jay Jopling. While this may not sound like much, Caspar's Uncle Jay was a BIG investor in the online auction platform Paddle8, where Princess Eugenie used to work.

This odd connection means that Caspar is actually pretty chummy with Princess Eugenie, and he's even casually Instagrammed her at an art show. BEST FRANDS.

Ellie and Caspar have even gone on a double date with Princess Eugenie to a Brooklyn Nets game, so we now have high hopes that the couple will be attending the Princess' royal wedding next year.

Not that that will be uncomfortable at all, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to attend the wedding too. This means Caspar will be reunited old school chum Hazza, who just happens to be his fiancée's rumoured ex-boyfriend… AWKWARD.
