Man recreates The Notebook to propose

Unfortunately, The Gos was unable to attend.

Anyone who's ever watched The Notebook will be able to recall the scene in the rowing boat as one of the most romantic in film history. You know, the one where Noah takes Allie out in a lake on a rowing boat and they're surrounded by tons of swans and it's all mystical and soppy and GAH it hurts my heart just thinking about it.

Yeah, well one guy, Angelo Piccini, (he's Italian, of COURSE he's romantic) wanted to capture all those feelings and tie them up in a big bow for his girlfriend, Chiara Grimaldi. So he enlisted the help of a wedding planner, Tiffany Wright, to organise a mega proposal in which he recreates that very scene in a lake at North London's Alexandra Palace, with ORIGAMI SWANS. It's all so thoughtful/weird.

Knowing that The Notebook is Chiara's favourite film, Angelo strapped a camera to himself and filmed as he rowed them out to the lake. Then all sorts of romantic things happen like a woman with a guitar singing She's The One by Robbie, and the swans, and soppy words, and then a group of the couple's closest friends and families gather together on the side of the lake holding up signs saying 'Will you marry me?' So pretty much most women's dream come true.

Yup. She's pretty happy.

Yup. She's pretty happy.

The whole proposal was filmed for a show called The Proposers so if you're really enamoured with this idea you can watch the whole thing in detail on that. But if you just can't wait, watch the 10 minute Youtube video of all the highlights. Go on, it'll make you weep (in a good way).
