This is so brave.

Her character in Stranger Things, Barb, might have had her voice unheard, but actress Shannon Purser is making sure hers isn’t. Shannon, who also stars in CW’s Riverdale, took to Twitter yesterday to open up about her struggle with self-harm.

The actress got super real when she posted this shot of a razor, which she found while cleaning, to her account, captioned, “TRIGGER WARNING I haven't self-harmed in years, but I kept this around, "just in case." I forgot it was there & now it's in the trash.”

She followed it up, tweeting, “Recovery is possible. Please don't give up on yourself.”

She left it at that, but fans were quick to post replies in solidarity, most noting that self-harm was something not often discussed by celebrities—especially when talking about depression and anxiety.
