After filming six whole seasons of Sex And The City and two epic movies, it’s pretty bloody impressive that Sarah Jessica Parker managed to avoid filming any nekkid sex scenes. AT ALL. In fact, she's never done a naked scene in her entire career.
Her secret? A trusty no-nudity clause, natch.
Over ten years after SATC ended and SJP’s finally opening up about why she’s stood by the clause, a term she intends on keeping in her upcoming HBO series, Divorce.
“I’ve always had [the clause], and it’s apropos of absolutely nothing,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter.
“Some people have a perks list and they are legendary. They have to have white candles in their room. I don’t have a crazy list like that,” she explains. “I’ve just always had [a no-nudity clause].”
Fair enough. No nudity, no biggie right?
Well apparently not. SJP recalls copping some shit from a fellow actor while filming one of her movies (which Sarah prefers to keep unnamed) and it’s not okay. “‘I’m gonna be out of my clothing,’” she recalls the actor saying, before she hit back with the classiest response, “‘fantastic, that’s wonderful you feel comfortable doing it.’” SJP ain't here for your peer pressure, yo.
For the record, Parker also says she’s not judgey about peeps who choose to strip down for their scenes, it’s just not her thing.
“I think it’s fantastic that people feel comfortable doing it,” she says, before adding, “it’s not some kind of principled position or religious or ideological on my part.”
Props to Sarah for sticking to her guns, how very Carrie Bradshaw of you.
